DTAC 2016, Abu Dhabi

It is widely recognized that Leadership and Communication skills are complementary to one another and not supplementary to the other. There is a dearth of organizations that can fill the vacuum when it comes to providing for this development need. Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization continues to be the global frontrunner in providing a platform for communication and leadership development. Today, we have more than 332,000 members worldwide, from over 15,400 clubs across 135 countries.

We are proud to be part of one of the largest clusters of toastmasters clubs grouped together as Disrtict-20 and covering a large part of the Middle East. District-20 boasts of more than 354 clubs and membership exceeding 20, 000, from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Each year, District-20 comes together for the District 20 Annual Conference (DTAC). This 3-day event, is all about excellence and learning. The atmosphere turns electric and the energies flow high when speakers of the highest caliber take the stage to compete and display their oratory skills and present their thoughts through inspirational, humorous, and impromptu talks. These contests are interspersed with educational sessions by eminent personalities from all walks of life which are highly informative and thought provoking.

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates has the honor of hosting DTAC 2016 t and is looking forward to welcoming 1200 delegates and dignitaries from the various District 20 countries and beyond. From the 26th May – 28th May 2016, the prestigious Zayed University Convention Center Abu Dhabi will witness all the excitement, the perseverance, the grit and the determination that goes behind every speech. During these three days, intense oratory battles will be fought to nail biting finishes. One winner from the International Speech category will go on to represent District-20 in the Toastmasters International Conference and vie for the coveted spot of World Champion of Public Speaking 2016. No one, be it the contestants, the organizers or the audience ever goes back from the DTAC without a feeling of complete satisfaction. We promise you that.

While focusing on bringing out the best speaking talents at the DTAC, the organizers also aspire to exhibit and showcase the city of Abu Dhabi, its culture and heritage, the local businesses not to mention its unique flavors in a way that it truly deserves. All efforts are being made to further solidify the stature of Abu Dhabi as a world-class destination for business, education, and leisure. While we move forward in this endeavor, local support through sponsorship from business houses and philanthropists would be essential to ensure the conduct of this event and firmly place Abu Dhabi on the map as a center of communication and leadership skills, a pre-requisite to the vision of moving from an oil based to a knowledge based economy.
